A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Williams completed his residency training and was Administrative Chief Resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Williams completed a three-year subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. The majority of his clinical practice involves couples attempting to become pregnant.
Dr. Williams and his wife are contemporaries of all the couples who want to exert control over their pregnancy planning and to make sure they are doing everything possible to maximize the health of their baby. They have one son, Scott, who was born in February of 1999. A second son, Justin, was born in February 2001. Dr. Williams is in his early 30’s and has many friends and family members, in addition to his patients, who have had similar experiences with getting pregnant. These personal and professional experiences have served as the background and motivation for this book.
